Gerard Brown is one of Positive Now’s founders, an organisation with a profound mission. Positive Now, established in June 2010, is a dynamic collective of individuals living with HIV dedicated to constructing and facilitating an all-Ireland network. The organisation is committed to ensuring that the voices of HIV-positive individuals resonate at all levels, all while steadfastly challenging the pervasive issues of stigma and discrimination.

The inception of Positive Now was driven by the vision to provide people living with HIV or AIDS a platform within existing governmental and non-governmental agencies. The group’s overarching goal is to enhance the well-being and quality of life for individuals dealing with HIV and AIDS in Ireland. Significantly, Positive Now’s advocacy extends to all, irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, or sexual orientation.

Within Positive Now, Gerard Brown assumes a significant role in the management team, contributing to the organisation’s independent efforts. Through their collective endeavours, Positive Now strives to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for those affected by HIV, working towards a future free from discrimination and stigma.
